Brûlerie Marmotta is a sister company to Microbrasserie Le Castor, born from the same obsession with craft. The roastery is under the same roof as the brewery, with the same people behind it.

So how did a microbrewery decide to start a roastery...?

Beer + Coffee

Several years ago we brewed a beer infused with coffee, and the visit to the coffee roastery lit a spark inside us. We wanted to try roasting coffee ourselves next time. And so we did! One roast led to another, and after many years of roasting for ourselves we are ready to share our creations.

And the name...?

Well our building sits on land that’s practically Marmot Headquarters. They're everywhere - burrowing tunnels, hanging out in stacks of old timber, living their best marmot lives. We thought they would make the perfect sibling to our beaver brewery. 

As for the Italian twist?

That’s our nod to the inventors of espresso and a country that treats coffee like an art form. Grazie, Italia, for the inspiration - and the caffeine!
